Poros (Πόρος) is a small island located about 48 km south of Piraeus. A 200-meter sea channel separates Poros from the Peloponnese peninsula. Poros is believed to be the island of the sea god Poseidon. In the past, the island was called Pogon. In fact, Poros consists of two separate islands connected by a bridge.
