Savannah
Savannah is a town in the US, Georgia. The settlement was founded in 1733 by General James Oglethorpe and is the capital of the 13th English colony - Georgia. It is one of the most beautiful American cities, and here you can feel what the American South was like. Many of the buildings have verandas and are surrounded by oak and tropical groves and were built in the early 19th century. The oldest preserved buildings are: Herb House built 1734; Pirate's House; Pink House and others. The well-being of Savannah in this period was due to the slave trade. During the Civil War of 1861-1865 Savannah was spared unlike most of the cities of the South. This is due to the fact that General Sherman was impressed by the beauty of Savannah and spared her.
