Bluegrass Region, Kentucky (USA)

The Bluegrass Region is located in the northern part of the state of Kentucky. It is an area of attractive rounded hills dotted with lots of green grass, beautiful mansions, picturesque villages and plenty of horses. Historic bourbon distilleries are located here - the oldest being Makers Mark.

The meadow broom grass, in spring, blooms a blue-purple and as you look at the lawns from the side, they take on a bluish hue. The Kentucky Horse Race is the most prestigious in the United States and is held annually in Louisville.
