Epidaurus (Επίδαυρος) is a polis in ancient Greece, located on the Saronic Gulf. The present city of Epidaurus was built next to the ancient city. It is believed that in these lands is the birthplace of Apollo's son - the healer Asclepius.

The most popular in Epidaurus are the sanctuary of Asclepius, located about 8 km from the city, and the huge theater that impressed the ancient traveler Pausanias with its symmetry and beauty. Today, everyone is impressed by the ancient theater and its acoustics, which offer perfect audibility without amplifiers for all 15,000 spectators.
