Metsovo (Dimotika) is a Greek town located in the pass between North and South Pind, on the road from Ioannina to Grevena. Metsovo is in the district of Epirus, named Ioannina and is the center of the eponymous region. The town is inhabited mainly by Vlachs engaged in sheep breeding and one of the centers of the Pind Vlachs. There is a ski center near Metsovo. The town of Metsovo was the capital of the Wallachian Pindos principality during the occupation of Greece during the Second World War.
