The Arch of Galerius and the Tomb of the Galerius can be seen in the central part of Thessaloniki. The two monuments are located next to each other and date from Roman times. The arch was built in 305. It is a symbol of the final victory of the Roman emperor Galerius over the Persians in 297. Today a small part of the Arch of Galerius remains and there is no information about the time and reasons why it was destroyed.
