Ferrara is a city in northern Italy, in the Emilia-Romagna region. It is located 9 m above sea level on one of the arms of the river Po and 45 km northeast of Bologna.
Ferrara has retained its medieval appearance. The city was ruled by the Este family from 1208 to 1598. Of them are the palaces, castles and other landmarks, namely: The castle of the Este family, The Palazzo dei Diamanti, The Palazzo Schifanoia, The Palazzina Marfiza d’Este; The palace of Louis Moreau and others. Also of interesting place is the Cathedral of Ferrara with a very beautiful facade, as well as the monastery of Sant'Antonio in Polesine.
