Agrigento is a town in Italy located on the island of Sicily. Next to it is the largest landmark in Sicily, the Valley of the Temples. One of the most important Greek colonies, Akragas, was located there in ancient times. Today, its former grandeur is still evident in the many ruins and ruins, as well as in the nine temples, the best preserved Greek remains outside Greece. In Agrigento the best preserved are: the Temple of Concordia from 430 BC; the Temple of Juno from 470 BC; the Temple of Heracles from the 5th century BC; the Temple of Jupiter, the construction of which was stopped in 406 BC by the invasion of Carthage. The ruins of the Hellenistic-Roman Quarter and the Regional Archaeological Museum should also be seen.
