The Palazzo Medici-Riccardi in Florence was designed by Michelozzo di Bartolomelo and was built between 1444-1460 for Cosimo di Medici. The Medici dynasty lived here until 1540, when it moved to the Old Palace. The exterior of the palace is deliberately not so glamorous. The Palazzo Medici-Riccardi houses one of the most beautiful works in Florence - the mural in the Chapel of the Magi. It is a three-part work by Benoco Gocoli and depicts some of the most famous of the Medici family.
