Alghero is a port town on the island of Sardinia, Italy. Allegro has a very well-preserved medieval centre walled. Allegro owes much of its appearance to the Spaniards and the Catalans in particular, who ruled the town from 1354 for four centuries. The most interesting sights of Alegro are the Cathedral and the Church of St. Francis, as well as the "Cave of Neptune" located north of the city.
