Capodimonte is one of Naples' greatest landmarks. The museum building was begun by the Bourbons as a hunting lodge in 1738. Today Capodimonte houses one of the richest art galleries in Italy. Works by all the most important names of Italian art are represented here - Titian, Giovanni Bellini, Michelangelo, Botticelli and many others. There is a beautiful park adjacent to the Capodimonte Museum building.
