The Siena Civic Museum is located in the main piazza, the Campo. The two most important halls in the Siena Civic Museum are located next to each other: the Hall of the World Map, whose walls are decorated with the lovely "Virgin on a Throne" by Simone Martini and a portrait of Siena's commander in chief, Guidoriccio da Foligno; the Hall of Peace, which houses the most famous fresco cycle in the city, "Allegories of Good and Bad Government" by Ambrogio Lorenzetti. Other interesting halls are: the Hall of Columns, the Hall of the Consistory, and the Chapel of the Council.
