The bats in Bracken Cave Preserve, San Antonio, Texas have been here since 10,000 years ago. The sight of 20 million bats flying out of the cave at dusk is truly one of nature's most fascinating wonders.

Thanks to local farmers and various donations, Bat Conservation International owns 280 hectares of land around the cave where an international bat research center will be built.
