The impressive Basilica di Santa Croce in Florence was founded in 1294 and has become a pantheon of great Florentines. Along the walls of the Basilica di Santa Croce are arranged the monumental tombs of Michelangelo, Galileo (1564-1642), Machiavelli (1469-1527) and other Renaissance greats.
