The most spectacular holiday in Asti is the annual horse races, which are held in late September to coincide with the wine fair and the beginning of the grape harvest.
Many of the interesting monuments in Asti are located around the main street "Vittorio Alfieri". The many medieval towers are worth seeing; the Gothic cathedral, famous for its frescoes from the 17th century; the covered gallery and the round baptistery.
