Hyderabad is a city in Southeast India, the largest city and capital of the state of Andhra Pradesh or Telangana, located on the left bank of the Musi River. Its population is about 7 million people, together with its twin city Secunderabad. Famous for its architectural monuments, temples, churches, beautiful parks and bazaars, Hyderabad is visited by millions of tourists every year. The best time to visit is from November to February. Hyderabad city has numerous lakes called 'sagar' which means 'sea'. In this city built for recreation there are 140 lakes and 834 water reservoirs. One of the oldest artificial lakes is Hussein Sagar, created in 1562. during the Qutb Shahi dynasty and was a source of drinking water for Hyderabad. It is also known for the 19-meter tall Buddha statue in the middle of the lake. A huge park for walking is located around its shores.
