
Saints John and Paul Basilica, Venice

The Saints John and Paul Basilica in Venice is the main church of the Dominican Order. Its construction began in 1333 and was completed by 1430. At least 25 doges are buried here. To the right of the Saints John and Paul Basilica is the most beautiful equestrian statue in Europe, by Andrea Verrocchio. It presents the Venetian general Bartolomeo Coleoni, who bequeathed his wealth to Venice.
