The occult - the opening in the ceiling symbolizes the all-seeing eye of God. In practice, it illuminates the building and the heavy stone ceiling. The Pantheon is a temple of the nine deities of the seven planets of the official religion in ancient Rome and was a Christian temple from the 7th century. It is the best preserved of all the ancient Roman buildings. It has been used as a temple throughout its history. In one of the chapels of the Pantheon are the tombs of the last Italian kings: Victor Emmanuel II, his wife Queen Margarita and his son Umberto I, which are maintained by volunteers of monarchical organizations.
The Pantheon in Rome also houses the remains of the artist Rafaelo Sanzio, the architect Baldassare Peruzzi and the musician Arcangelo Corelli. Architect Filippo Brunelleschi studied the construction of the dome of the Pantheon and based on this he managed to build the impressive dome of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiori in Florence.
