Pavia is an Italian city in the Lombardy region, on the Ticino River. It is the main administrative center of the province of Pavia which is with the same name. Pavia was once the capital of the Lombardy region. The city has many buildings in Romanesque and Renaissance style. Charlemagne (774) and Frederick Barbarossa (1155) were crowned in Pavia.
In Pavia interesting to see are: the Pavia Monastery, the church "St. Michael”; the church "St. Peter”; Visconti Castle, which currently has a small museum and art gallery.
