Urbino is a city in Italy, in the Marche region. Urbino's history dates back to Roman times. It received the status of a city in 568. In the Middle Ages, one of the most exquisite royal courts in Europe was located here. It flourished during the reign of Federico de Montefeltro in the period 1444 - 1482. The Montefeltro family of mercenaries managed to rise to the rulers of Urbino.
