The Church of Saint Michele in Foro in Lucca, Italy was built on a Roman forum. After 1370 it was named after the Archangel Michael. The church was first mentioned in 795 and rebuilt by Pope Alexander II in 1070. The magnificent façade dates from the 13th century and is in Pisano-Romanesque style and is a combination of stunning tiny loggias, blind arcades and twisting columns. The bell tower of Church of Saint Michele in Foro was built in the 12th-14th centuries.
