Mauna Loa and Kilauea are volcanoes located in the southernmost part of Hawaii Island. They are part of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Mauna Loa and Kilauea are very active active volcanoes, each 600,000 years old, and therefore under constant surveillance.

Mauna Loa is the largest shield volcano in the world at 100 km long and 50 km wide. Kilauea has been erupting continuously for the past decades and lava flows down its steep slopes from the summit. Their movement is no faster than a moderate human pace, so they rarely cause damage. It's a scary but interesting sight.
