Baton Rouge is the capital of the state of Louisiana. It was established in 1846 and is located on the Mississippi River Delta. Baton Rouge is a big harbor and a center of the petroleum processing and chemical industry.

There is a number of museums in Baton Rouge: LSU Museum of Art; Museum of Natural Science; Baton Rouge Gallery; Louisiana's Old State Capitol; Magnolia Mound Plantation House – an architectural example from XVIII century; the USS Kidd battleship and others.
