The Western Caucasus, Russia is the most diverse biosphere reserve in Europe. This is the only mountain range in Europe, descending to the very shores of the Black Sea, which is not affected by human economic activity. Subtropical, field and alpine ecosystems are found here, as well as many rare plants and animals.
There are huge firs, reaching 70 m in height, as well as forests of beech, chestnut and oak, flower-covered meadows and swamps, resounded by 126 species of birds.
The Vorontsovka Caves are one of the largest systems of caverns in Russia, reaching a depth of 1600 m and a length of 16 km.
Also interesting for tourists are the 33-meter Orehovki waterfall, the Khodz canyon, the valley of the river Psevapse and others. It is beautiful here at any time of the year, and the nearest town is Sochi, 50 km.
