Alcudia Valley, Spain
The Alcudia Valley in Spain is located north of the mountain and is where Cervantes' characters travel. In spring, the meadows are covered with a carpet of scarlet poppies. The rivers and lakes here are a favorite place for kayaking. There are also hot mineral springs. Remains of Paleolithic culture have been found near the beautiful Retamar lake, and there are drawings by primitive people in the neighboring caves.
