Osuna, Spain

Osuna is among the many surprises of Andalusia, home to many elegant mansions, monasteries and churches. Arriving in this city, one immerses himself in a Renaissance and Baroque world, feeling the aristocratic spirit of Osuna, which is a legacy of the Dukes of Osuna, the most powerful nobles in Spain. To appreciate the city, the Main Square must be seen. On it rises the magnificent Palacio de los Cepeda, now the Palace of Justice, with its marvelous columns, elegant courtyard and spiral staircase.
North of it is the Palacio de Puente Hermosa which impresses with its magnificent twisted columns inlaid with grapes and vine leaves. Above Osuna tower the old university and the interesting 16th-century Collegiate Church. It shines with incredible plate decorations and works of fine art, among which "Christ on the cross" by José de Ribera and the crucifixion by Juan de Mesa, but the most impressive is the underground pantheon, which contains the tombs of the noble dukes of Osuna.
