Oberstdorf, Germany

Nestled in the German part of the Alps is the beautiful town of Oberstdorf, which is a famous ski resort as well as the third largest municipality in Bavaria. Behind the diminutive "town" actually lies a resort area with serious challenges for those who respect and practice winter sports. Oberstdorf is very proud of its modern figure skating center, located just outside the town. This is where many international figure skating tournaments are held. The six ski schools also offer their services in the resort area.
There are three distinct ski areas in Oberstdorf, the specifications of which make the resort the most suitable place for intermediate skiers, with 21 slopes at their disposal. Beginners are also welcome in Oberstdorf and can enjoy the winter on the 14 slopes for their level through the convenient facilities. Experts can ski down 3 pistes. Oberstdorf's ski areas are in an area with altitudes from 2220 m to 830 m. The total length of the slopes is 44 km and the maximum vertical drop is 1400 m. Each of the slopes can be reached thanks to a system of 26 lifts.
Snowboarders visiting Oberstdorf can remember their holiday either by enjoying the descent through the several snowboard parks, or by the levels of adrenaline they picked up after descending the rough slopes. The town itself has interesting things to see, such as its historical museum. It's tasked with walking you through time - how the region developed, how mountaineering and winter tourism developed, right down to what crafts the locals have perfected.
