Rheinsberg Palace is an interesting historical landmark that you can see in the eponymous German city, which is located in the northeastern German state of Brandenburg.
The friendly Rheinsberg Castle rises on the shores of a beautiful lake with floating lentils and lilies. The beautiful Rheinsberg Palace is valued as a building of the highest quality, and there are claims that its incredible architecture served as a model for the intriguing Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam. Inside the Rheinsberg there are about 50 apartments, as well as royal rooms full of works of art.
Initially, Rheinsberg Castle began its existence as a fortified fortress. Prince Friedrich Rheinsberg was responsible for its transformation into a beautiful palace building in 1734. It is said that Prince Friedrich spent the best years of his life in this castle.
Prince Henry, his younger brother, decides that he must do something great for the artist to make him even more beautiful. This is how the unique for Europe so-called "Court of the Muses". Prince Henry is also credited with the glamorous architecture of the castle and its adjoining gardens in a distinctly early neoclassical style. In the course of the following decades, a park, the House of the Knights and the Palace Theater were created.
Rheinsberg Castle is home to many classical festivals - the Easter Festival, the Rheinberg Music Days, and from June to August every year performances of the Rheinberg Opera.
In the castle of Rheinsberg is a memorial monument to the artist Kurt Tucholski, which was erected in memory of his work and life as one of the most remarkable authors in the Weimar Republic.
