Bastei Rocks, Germany
The Bastei rocks in Germany in the Elbe Valley are beautiful rock formations. Ships are moving along the Elbe River and tourists are amazed by the beauty and grandeur of these sandstone cliffs, guarded by valleys and gorges and rising straight from the edges of the canyon. Some of them reach a height of 170 m. Along the Bastei rocks there are stone bridges built in the middle of the XIX century. Above the river there is a suspension bridge, 305 m high, which offers the most beautiful views of the Elbe Valley and its mountains.
Near the Bastei rocks is the natural amphitheater "Felsenbune Ratten", where romantic plays and operas are staged in the summer. And from the terraces of the fortress "Könihstein" there is a unique panoramic view of the hills, the river winding in the valley and the mountain peaks.
