The Tchaikovsky State House-Museum is located in Klin, 84 km from Moscow. In this city the composer spent eight years of his life and created his Sixth (Pathetic) Symphony and two of his three ballets, Sleeping Beauty and The Hazelnut Crusher. Some of the original scores, drafts and letters that Tchaikovsky's brother Modest collected are now on display as a permanent collection in Klin. The most remarkable exhibit of the museum is Tchaikovsky's Becker piano. It is played only by the most talented contemporary musicians on special occasions.
