The Loggia della Signoria is located in Piazza della Signoria in Florence. Its construction was started by Orkanya in 1376 in order to protect officials and guests from natural disasters during the ceremonies in the square. Its other name is Loggia dei Lanzi, because it was used as a shelter by the guards (Lanzi) of Cosimo I. Today, sculptural works are on display in the Signoria Lodge. The most famous sculpture is "Perseus" by Benvenuto Cellini and is one of the most beautiful bronze statues in Europe.
