Tintagel Castle is an English fortification settled on a beautiful peninsula. Unfortunately the sea waters have ‘eaten’ most of the castle and only small parts of it remained to this day. Tintagel Castle has an incredible atmosphere and many legends are linked to it.

One of stories is from 800 years ago and says that Tintagel was the birthplace of King Arthur, son of the gorgeous Queen Igraine and protected by the famous wizard Merlin who lived in a cave beneath the fortress.

Tintagel Castle was built in 1233 by Richard, 1st Earl of Cornwall who chose Tintagel peninsula because of the legends that this was the place where the castle of the ancient kings of Cornwall was located. Today, the caste offers breathtaking views and impressive history.

Tintagel Castle was initially a legendary fortress later turned into a castle on the coast of Cornwall County in England. It is also considered to have been the residence of King Mark of Cornwall, uncle of Tristan.

Fictional or real, Tintagel Castle has a unique history and allows its visitors to stand on top of the rigid rocks, high above the crushing waves.

Generations after generations including famous writers like Charles Dickens and Alfred Tennyson have come to see this magical place considered to be the milestone of the legend about King Arthur.
