Tarifa, Spain
Probably people do not know what there is in Tarifa, but it is certainly not unknown that it is the southernmost point of Spain. Stepping onto the territory of Tarifa, you can't help but feel the whiff and distinctive shade of North Africa. If this corner is now 14 km from the border, as a result of the implementation of the future plans, which include the construction of an underwater tunnel with a railway line, the distance will be shortened even more.
Apart from being the southernmost Spanish point, Tarifa is also the first Arab settlement in Spain. The Puerta de Jerez and the old fortified town of Castillo de Guzmán el Bueno testify to this and have preserved within themselves the history of the long Muslim rule.
Today, Tarifa is prosperous and cosmopolitan because it offers wonderful year-round conditions for windsurfing and it is in Tarifa that the World Windsurfing Championships take place. And this in itself is a reason for this place to be visited more and more often. Tarifa is welcoming to all and its crystal clear waters are a mouth-watering spot for divers.
