It is said that the reason why calling Barcelona a fairytale is because of Anthony Gaudi. Decorating the Barcelona with iconic buildings, each of which screams the uniqueness and genius of his craftsmanship, he left his mark in a cheerful and cheerful place, designed by the architect commissioned by the industrialist Guell, who dreamed of building a natural and fabulously beautiful place to live. The plan was for Park Guell to be an English-style residential complex with homes, workshops and studios, a chapel and a park to rise on a hill north of the city.
The Park Guell project embodies the idea of a "garden city" in which everyone can escape from the industrial city and return to nature. The beautiful mosaics, the original anatomical benches, the pavilions are like fairy tales.
The main entrance to Park Guell is spectacular and majestic. Walking through the Park Guell people has the feeling that it is as if children have built strange sand castles. Visitors encounter palm-shaped columns, and the longest bench is in the shape of a sea snake. This is where the sense of reality finally disappears. The symbol of the city - a large multi-colored lizard, strewn with ceramic pieces, watches over the passage to a majestic colonnade, erected to hold a huge terrace overlooking the entire city.
The Park Guell was built as a private garden by the industrialist Guell and was influenced by fashion in England at the time. English fashion has reflected even the name of the park - in Catalan, a park with "K" is written, not a par with "C", but this was Guell's wish.
The construction of the Park Guell goes through various stages, undergoes changes, is influenced by the political situation in the country, but in the end it reaches us in this unique Gaudi style. The creation of the Park Guell lasted from 1900 to 1914 and became the property of the city of Barcelona in 1927 and is one of the most visited landmarks of the city. Due to the economic crisis, only two houses were built in the end, but they are like out of fairy tales.
