Sagunto is a city and municipality in Spain. The city is included in the province of Valencia in the autonomous region of Valencia, and the municipality is located in the district of Campo de Morvedere. 
The city of Sagunto consists of two main parts – the old town, located at the foot of the Roman-style fortress, and the port of Sagunto or Puerto de Sagunto, located 5 km from the historic center.
Today, the imposing ruins of the ancient fortress on top of the hill, which underwent a series of expansions as different rulers came to power, can be seen as landmarks. The developed heavy industry in the city adds to its appearance not so attractive sights, but the interesting remains from Roman times in the restored Amphitheater manage to warm the hearts of visitors. It is on its stage that the annual festival of theatrical art in Sagunto takes place.
