Mount Jungfrau in Switzerland is the highest (4158) in that part of the Alps called the Bernese Oberland. Nearby are the peaks of Eiger and Mönch.

The mountain railway, which is the longest in the world and has been in operation since 1893, can be used to reach a height of 2020 m. The route is continued by an electric railway. At a stop on the way to Mount Jungfrau, there are special places to watch the ice below and the peaks rising up. A cable car takes you to the Sphinx Terrace, located between the peaks of Jungfrau and Mönch. From this terrace you have a magnificent view of the 23-kilometre-long Aletsch Glacier and the green valleys below.
