Gimmelwald is a small village in Switzerland perched high on the Schilthorn. Both in summer and winter the place is fabulously beautiful. The panoramic views from the 2970 m high Schilthhorn encompass the Jungfrau and Titlis peaks as well as the Jura and Black Forest mountains. In clear weather, Mont Blanc, 110 km away as the crow flies, can also be seen. The nearest town to the hamlet is Interlaken. There is a cable car to the Schilthorn peak, but going there on foot involves extraordinary experiences of the wonderful views along the way.
