Aspendos

Aspendos is best known for its theater, which is the best preserved in Turkey and rivals with the Colosseum in Rome. Built in the time of Marcus Aurelius (161-180) by a local architect named Xenon, it impresses with its thousands of seats, well-sized porticos and rich decoration. The acoustics are good and the theater is still frequented during the International Opera and Ballet Festival of Antalya.
