Fethiye
_00543.jpg)
Fethiye is known in antiquity as Telmesus and has been the main port of Lycia since Roman times. Interesting is the Fethiye Museum, which has some beautiful statues and jewels from the glorious days of Telmesus. The rock tombs, carved into the rock above the city, are impressive. The largest is the tomb of Amyntas, ruler from the IV century BC.
West of Kaya Caddesi is the castle remained by the Crusaders, dating from the XII century and attributed to the Knights of St. John.
