The Gorges de l'Ardèche in France is located along the river Ardèche. The Gorges de l'Ardèche is the most beautiful part of the Ardèche between the Saint Espry Bridge and the town of Vallon Pont d'Arc. This area is known for one of the rockiest landscapes in France, with cliffs 300m high in places. One of the biggest attractions here is the Pont d'Arc, or the Arc Bridge. It is a 60 metre high rock arch spanning the river. Thousands of years ago, the Ardèche River flowed through underground caves whose ceilings have thinned and gradually collapsed.

Nearby are the caves of Aven d'Ornac and Madeleine, which are rich in stalagmites.
