Reims is a city in northeastern France, belonging to the Champagne-Ardenne region, one of the most famous wine regions. It plays an important role in the history of France as the site of royal coronations. The most famous event was the coronation of Charles VII in the presence of Joan of Arc in 1429.

It was here that the surrender of Nazi Germany in World War II was signed by General Eisenhower and Wehrmacht Chief of Staff General Alfred Jodl and Admiral Karl Dönitz at 2.41 am on 7 May 1945.

Reims also has its own irreplaceable and interesting sights. These include the Notre Dame de Reims Cathedral, the Place Royale, where the statue of Louis XV is located, and the Place Cardinal-Luzon and the statue of Joan of Arc, as well as the Place Drouet d'Erlon. Then there are the architectural gems such as the Gate of Mars monument and the Tu Palace, built between 1498 and 1509.
