The Dordogne Caves in France are located in the limestone plateau through which the River Dordogne flows. Drawings of primitive people have been found in some of them.

One group of caves is called Padirac and is reached by an elevator leading to the bottom of a 100 meters precipice. Boating on an underground river is impressive and terrifying. There are cave halls in this cave ensemble, one of which is the Grand Dome. The nearest town is Rocamadour.
