The raw border town of Dogubeyazit is a good place from which to enjoy the views from the highest mountain in Turkey – The Ararat Mountain. The only landmark of Dogubeyazit, Ishak Pasha Palace, is in the mountains which are on the southeast of the city. The fortified palace was built at the end of the 18th century by the local ruler Cholak Abdi Pasha and his son Ishak. The interior of the building is extremely beautiful.
