St David's

St David's is a lovely city located in the southwest part of Wales and part of the Pembrokeshire County. St David's is considered a city despite its small size in territory and population and thus it is the smallest City in Great Britain. It is famous for the fact that it is the only city located entirely within a national park. Its City status was officially awarded with a Royal Prerogative in 1996.
St David's is located on the River Alun on the St David’s Peninsula in the western part of Wales. The major landmark of the city is the St David’s Cathedral. The first settlement was formed around the Cathedral. It was a famous Christian pilgrim site in the Middle Ages. St David's popularity is mostly due to the fact that it is considered a birth place of the patron saint of Wales – St David.
The rest of the preserved historical sites that can be seen in St David’s are the Tower Gate from 13th century, remains of a 14th century Bishop Residence as well as an old Celtic Cross. There are several art galleries worth visiting too.
