Although Mozart was born in Salzburg, Vienna has occupied his image and his music. The place where he lived and worked for some time has now been turned into a museum dedicated to the composer.

The Mozarthouse (Wien Museum Mozart Apartment) is today one of Vienna's main attractions. Mozart is closely associated with the city and very often the two names evoke associations with each other. Mozart spent some of the best years of his life in this home, now a museum - he lived there for three years (1784-1787) with his family, and it was in this house that he wrote The Marriage of Figaro, as well as other of his most famous works.
