Vienna Clock Museum, Austria
Vienna, not as a city but as a tourist destination, is an excellent choice for any art and history connoisseur. Apart from its numerous sights, galleries, cafes, restaurants and shops, the city has something else to offer every visitor - for example, the opportunity to visit numerous museums with different and varied exhibitions. As they number more than 90, we can safely say that there is a museum for every taste and interest. It is among those must-visit museums that the Clock Museum stands out. Housed over several floors in a beautiful Renaissance building, it is the proud owner of an astonishing collection of wall, table and wrist clocks.
A quiet and secluded street leads us to the Vienna Clock Museum, which is a branch of the Museum of Vienna. It has a collection of over 3,000 unique exhibits, which range from the iron clockwork of St. Stephen's Cathedral to exhibits of the rank of the Zappler pendant clock, which is distinguished first by its size - it is smaller than a lipstick capsule. Visitors to the Clock Museum will be immersed in the world of clock making thanks to the masterpieces on display, but will also be amazed by the grotesquely decorated table clocks from the Baroque period. But don't think that these clocks don't work. On the contrary, the museum's halls are filled hourly with sounds like whistles, bells and chimes coming from the exhibits every round the clock.
