A city in Southern Croatia. Zadar is the cultural and tourist capital of Central Dalmatia. Small and narrow streets in the Old Town with numerous cafes and restaurants give the city a unique romantic atmosphere.
In the Old Town of Zadar, you should visit many cultural monuments - the Church of St. Donat, Romanum Forum, ancient arches, bastions, towers and fortresses. One of the most attractive comments is the exhibition "Gold and Silver of Zadar". In Zadar there is a National Museum, Archaeological Museum, The University of Zadar (opened in 1396, functions until 1807 and reopened in 2002), Maritime Museum, etc.
From here you can easily make interesting trips to the National Park Kornati, to the neighboring islands or to the Roman village of Nin.
