Balcarka Cave, Czech Republic
Balcarka Cave is located in a hilly, beautiful area near Brno, Czech Republic. It is a labyrinth of underground passages and halls on two levels, filled with stalagmites and stalactites unusual in shape and color. Unusually beautiful is this cave. From the entrance hall of Balcarka Cave, one passes through an artificial tunnel and reaches an oval gorge 10 m high, which is covered with stone cascades. The largest hall of the labyrinth, called the Great Hall of Foch, has a beautifully decorated ceiling of transparent stalactites and transparent draperies of mineral layers.
The most beautiful halls in Balcarka Cave are the Gallery and the Nature Hall. Their ceilings and walls are covered with brightly colored stalactites and clean shapes.
In the Ruined Hall, formed by the collapse of its ceiling, is the stone waterfall called the Madonna's Cactus.
The sense of nature's grandeur is heightened by summer concerts in nearby Katerin Cave.
