Šumava, Czech Republic
Šumava is a low mountain range located in Central Europe, on the territory of three countries - the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria.
This massif covered with dense forests is the oldest in Europe. The rivers Vltava, Ottava and Uhlava flow from the Šumava. Snowmelt in spring feeds peat bogs and the Lipno dam. The Šumava region has thus become one of the most important sources of water in Central Europe.
Šumava is a popular holiday destination. In summer there are hiking and cycling trails and in winter there are ski and snowboard slopes. You can also go skiing in the plain.
