The Danish Lake District possesses extraordinary natural beauty. There are low rounded hills, peaks, forests, rivers, moors, dunes and farmland, lakes and meadows. The attractiveness of the area is also due to the more than ten lakes. This lake area is called Sjohelandet, where the highest Danish peaks rise, from where the views are wonderful.

An interesting attraction is a trip on the lake in one of the oldest side-wheel steamers, the Heilen, built in 1861. The nearest town is Skanderborg.
